Asus A46CA-WX048H

Asus has released a new thin and light notebook in the Philippines, the Asus A46CA-WX048. The Asus A46CA is a 14-inch Windows 8 notebook which comes in a case just 0.8-inches thick and just over 4 pounds in weight. It is powered by an Intel Core i3 3127U processor, 2 GB of RAM and a 500 GB hard drive. It comes with all the other things you expect from a current laptop these days, like Bluetooth, HDMI out and USB 3.0. This laptop also includes a slowly disappearing feature, an optical drive.

It is priced fairly enough at Php26,900, and except for the keyboard actually looks like a more expensive laptop.

At this price range, it main competition in the market is the HP Pavilion Sleekbook14-B023TU which is priced at Php27,990. The HP Pavilion Sleekbook14-B023TU does not come with an operating system or optical drive and is 1K more expensive, while being equipped with the same processor, and same amount of RAM and storage.
