An Eco-friendly Concept Car from Norway

Many ways in which the automotive industry to create environmentally friendly concept car, one of them by cooperating with other companies to develop this vehicle.

FYK concept car developed by Aetek, a Norwegian automaker, which collaborated and sponsored by the lubricants company, Statoil. This concept car project was led by Arild Tjomsland, which has a lot of experience in building a car like this.

FYK car designed as an environmentally friendly vehicles by utilizing natural gas and hydrogen as the energy source. Statoil provide the fuel for FYK concept car.

The fuel used was a mixture of natural gas and hydrogen are called NaturalHy (HCNG) with the composition of 8-20% hydrogen and 92-80% of natural gas is then compressed.

This fuel is considered as a first step towards the commercialization of hydrogen fuel in the future automobile market. FYK concept car built using recycled aluminum in almost all parts, including the body, chassis, engine, wheels, and even to the interior elements. The design of the exterior and interior of the FYK concept car shows the techniques of aluminum utilization.

Although environmentally friendly, but as the concept car, it is still has a shortage of doors and interior design which seems still not maximizing functional elements and still looks difficult for driver to enter and move within it.
In addition the FYK car had been launched at the same time as Statoil opens Norway's first hydrogen/NaturalHy/natural gas filling station in August 2006 in Forus, Stavanger. 4th-Generation Turboprop Aircraft

Super Tucano EMB-314 aircraft with turboprop engine whose manufactured by Brazil's Embraer including in the fourth generation turboprop aircraft. This aircraft first flew on June 2, 1999 and the inaugural operation in 2003. Where this aircraft has two variants: A-29A and A-29B which serves as a light attack aircraft and can be used as a military trainer aircraft.

The aircraft that was developed from its predecessor the EMB-312 Tucano, where refinement was conducted on the development of avionics systems, weapons systems and data communication systems. By using a single engine of Pratt & Whitney PT6A-68C which is capable of producing power of 1,600 hp, so the aircraft can fly day and night. It also has the ability anti-guerrilla attack (counter insurgency), forward air control, closed air support, interdiction, air surveillance, as well as additional capability as trainer aircraft.

The aircraft has a more ergonomic cockpit with better placement of the instrument panel and to facilitate the existing system operation. In addition there are HUD (Head Up Display) integration system, UFCP (Up Front Control Panel) and two unit of CMFD (Color Multi Function Displays) which greatly facilitate and ease the pilot work.

In the front seat HUD equipped with video cameras that can be viewed by the back seat and also can be transmitted to the station below and other aircraft via data link and can be recorded on a digital video recorder. Through UFCP the pilot can change the radio/nav aid freq, while CMFD can show additional and routine information, procedure list, and its main function as back up displays to HUD and UFCP.

For throttle and control stick are a lot of buttons that will facilitate the operation of the hand remains on throttle and stick thus retaining control capability. Super Tucano has a maximum take off weight of 5,400 kg, with 1,550 kg of external load, with the internal fuel capacity of 656 liters for twin seater and 956 liter for single-seater with a 960 liter external tanks can fly seven hours to reach a distance of 1,480 nautical miles. In the cockpit there are the Martin Baker MK-10L ejection seats with 3 operating modes and equipped also anti-"G" suits and Personal Survival Kit.

The Fungus is able to control the Weather

The scientists learned that fungi have a remarkable ability to control the weather in the vicinity. Professor Emilie Dressaire, a researchers from Trinity College in Connecticut, U.S. found that the fungus is able to change the humidity around them. Not only that, the fungus are also able to set up a wind that will help them to spread their spores in seeding process.

A mushroom - or toadstool - is technically the fleshy, spore-bearing, fruiting body of a fungus. Millions of spores, microscopic single-celled 'seeds', may be produced by a single mushroom, and at least a few of these are likely to land somewhere suitable for fungal growth.

In this study, U.S. scientists are using high-speed film techniques and mathematical models, to show how the oyster and shitake mushrooms in the water vapor release process to cool the air around them and eventually create convection currents.

As reported by the Dailymail, the findings of which were presented at the annual meeting of the American Physical Society's Division of Fluid Dynamics in Pittsburgh showed that the fungus is able to work as a mechanism in the produce spores.

"Our research indicates that the 'machine' in the mold work more complex. They were able to control the surrounding environment and creates the wind if nature does not provide it," said Emilie. Scientists believe that the same process can be used by all types of fungi. A Hole in Space -- envisioning and demonstrating video chat in 1980

Product development often begins a speculative vision like Vannevar Bush imagining a global network of scientific workstations (see this presentation) or the work of artists and storytellers.
But, most visions are no more than that -- visions. The critical next step is building an engineering prototype demonstrating the vision -- "demo or die." Think of Daimler's early autos, the Wright Brothers' Flyer, or Doug Engelbart and Ivan Sutherland's work in our field.

Artists Kit Galloway and Sherrie Rabinowitz combined vision and prototype when they created a "Hole in Space" by linking bigger-than-life displays in New York and LA with a NASA satellite feed. It was the mother of all video chats -- they showed that size and bandwidth matter in communicating presence and emotion.

The Most powerful Electric motorcycle

Slovakian Flying Car

Flying car or a combination of cars and airplanes have a lot created. Although in practice it is still difficult to apply in the real world, no one has even sold. However, this flying car is different.

Currently Slovakia has created a flying car, where the development process takes up to two decades and called it as Aeromobil. According to the inventor, Aeromobil would be the most practical combo flying car we have ever seen.

As reported by Carscoop on Monday, November 4, 2013, Aeromobil which is the work of Stefan Klein, a Slovakian inventor is working on much the same principles as other similar vehicles, but has been built with realistic real-world feasibility.

You can drive it out of the regular parking lot, with a wingspan of 8.2 m (26.9 ft) folded, and fly use the highway as a runway, then if you enjoy your flight, don't forget find the nearest airstrip to land. As you may notice the Aeromobile doesn’t climb more than 3.05 m (10 ft). There are two reasons for that,
  1. Air regulations dont permit any vehicle air space without a bunch of licenses, checks and other jargon.
  2. This is Aeromobil 2.5 Version has some handling glitches were are expected to be solved by version 3.
Needless to say even without the air height we can clearly see that had the pilot so wished, the car would have climbed higher. Naturally this being the prototype, a commercial model would be infinitely better.

Its empty weight is 450 kilograms (992 lbs), before the added capacity of two adults and fuel. The flying car uses a Rotax 912 engine that require 91-octane fuel and capable produced a power of 100 hp, which is distributed to the two front wheels or rear propeller, which can be selected simply by pressing a button.

Three Brands blending in One Café Racer motorcycle

A masterpiece of automotive modification that will bring a surprise, is the fruit of the creative ideas of remarkable modifier. Of course the idea can come from anywhere, such as combining parts that taken from several brands of motorcycles.

This was apparently done by Choppahead, a modifications house from Massachusetts, United States that presents their work that is named Tronsa. What do you think of upon hearing that name?

Tronsa name is nothing to do with one famous movie, Tron. If you think there, you are wrong. Tronsa name that given by Choppahead was an abbreviation of Triumph - Honda - BSA. Believe it or not, this bike is a blend of all of those three brands.

This modification work using the engine, transmission and braking system of the 1975 Triumph 'Bonneville T140 motorcycle, then Choppahead combine with the fork and swingarm owned by Honda. While the fuel tank and the frame, taken from the 1968 BSA which has kindly donated these parts.

Tronsa built by Choppahead with the style of modern café racer concept. The old Bonneville engine was completely rebuilt and Amal carbs have been fitted, together with a Boyer electronic ignition and a custom, hand-made underseat oil tank.

The Tronsa contains in fact a lot of other Choppahead custom parts beautifully integrated in this build, but they're just too many to be listed here. In other words, Choppahead just add accessories to give more viscous touch of café racer side, as the theme that wanting to be appointed by the American home modifications.

[Coherence, Java] New: VisualVM Plugin for Coherence - released through the Coherence Incubator
