Sam Phibian
Sam Phibian makes counting fun.

Sam Phibian can only make it through the day by counting the bugs he eats. Eating too many bugs--or eating the silly things in his swamp that aren't bugs at all--will cause Sam to grow too big for his lily pad!

Sam Phibian combines attractive graphics, fun game play, and just the right amount of absurdity to create an interactive experience that makes counting practice engaging for young (and old!) learners.

Wave Y

Posted by Unknown 0 komentar
The only tangible thing that seems upped except the version number of the operating system and the NFC chip addition, is the slightly higher screen resolution, but even at 320x480 it is only decent for the 3.2” screen. Moreover, the camera resolution has gone down from 3.2MP on the previous cheaper Waves to 2MP here, making you go “hmm”.

Having “Y” in the title is an indication that the phone is supposed to be priced sub-$200 without a contract, and is geared towards teens and emerging markets. Is the Samsung Wave Y just low-end, or low-end but with a twist that will justify its purchase over some affordable Android handset? Read on our preview to find out...

Design:
The Samsung Wave Y is actually a tad thicker and wider than the first batch of entry-level bada phones like the Wave 575, so it won't be winning any design contests in the compact department. The chassis takes a cue from the flagship Wave 3 bada phone with tapered edges and rounded corners, which is apparently the new look of bada phones.

The tapered back battery cover is trying to mimic a brushed metal pattern, but the phone is all-around plastic, and in the uninspiring black/grey combination at that.

The 3.2” display sports 320x480 pixels, which finally puts bada on par with most of the low-end Androids, and the screen actually sports decent viewing angles and sunlight visibility. Small text still looks jagged and letters interrupted with such resolution, though.

Underneath the display we have a large physical home key, flanked by two capacitive buttons that light up, ready for action, which is the only contemporary feature around the phone's design.

There is no LED flash for the 2MP camera on the back, just a speaker grill next to it, but we like that the microSD card slot is taken out of the battery compartment, and placed on the right side for easier access.

Wave 723

Samsung Wave 723 is the fourth phone that will carry its own open mobile OS bada. After the pilot Samsung Wave, the company did two low-end handsets with the bada OS - the Wave 2, and the Wave 2 Pro with a QWERTY keyboard. Both phones carried a 3.2" LCD screen, and a 3MP camera. The new Wave 723 steps things up from those with an LCD screen of the same 3.2" size, but a back cover made of metal, Wi-Fi, and a 5MP camera with LED flash. An interesting design take is the screen cover which is made of leather, and is attached to the bottom of the phone.

First thing I wanna talk about is the design. I really like the metallic back cover of the phone. Really feels like that this phone really is built for toughness and yet fashionble. I have the white colour and it is really beautiful. The leather cover gives you that fashion feeling to your phone and yet useful to protect the screen. I've put a screen protector and plus the leather cover I get full protection for the screen. Second is the functionality. The touch screen is as accurate and responsive as my iPod nano 6th gen. The music recognition is a plus because now I can get information on the song that I never heard off. Even the screen is just TFT display, I still think that it is better than most phones with regular TFT display. The camera is just everything I need for everyday photo shooting. The music player is very good. And the 5.1 surround sound is just superb. You also get the functions from the original wave except swpye but does not bother although I do hope that they will add swpye on the next bada update. I would like to talk more about this awesome phone but I don't have the time. You just gonna have try it yourself.

Wave 3

Posted by Unknown 0 komentar
Now-a-days, Mango and Droid phones are being launched at cruising speed and thus a new smartphone on a developing platform is going to struggle to get noticed. Perhaps, Samsung is in a mood to do so. The company’s latest Bada flagship smartphone, Samsung Wave 3, will soon hit the markets in countries around the world. Initially, the Wave 3 was supposed to be released in October, but it’s only now that Samsung has announced its availability. The third generation of the Samsung Wave is all set to make a difference. Running completely redesigned Bada OS version 2.0, the Samsung Wave 3 comes in a 9.9-mm thin metal case with anodized brushed aluminum. The Samsung S8600 Wave 3 flaunts a bigger and better screen. It's blazing fast, thanks to its 1.4 GHz Snapdragon single core CPU processor. The other key features are the unhitched multitasking and presence of one of the best video players in this smartphone.
Samsung Wave 3 has a 4-inch WVGA super AMOLED display, HSPA 14.4 Mbps connectivity, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, ChatON service, 512MB of RAM, 5 MP autofocus rear photo snapper, and a VGA front-facing camera.
The Samsung S8600 Wave 3 has a good build and appeal and looks of a true flagship device. The brushed metal case of the device is very impressive and the unibody slider design is also a novelty. Samsung S86000 Wave 3 measures 125.9 mm x 64.2 mm x 9.9 mm. The phone weighs 122 gm and it is impressively slim and lightweight.
There are some disheartening issues also with this otherwise very talented gadget. First and foremost is with the Bada OS. This revamped OS still has comparatively limited number of available applications. Besides, the card slot of the device is not hot-swappable and the phone has no proper smart dialing feature. Even the “SatNav” software pre-loaded on Wave 3 is available only on a 30-day trial.

User Interface and UI functionality

To begin with, Samsung Wave 3 has Bada OS whose new major version and the interface can hold it high even against high-end Androids. This has made the device certainly an attention grabber. The Samsung S8600 Wave 3 has a solid metal body with the traditional brushed finish. It's a slim and very stylish handset with a minimalist exterior and a unibody design. The handset boasts of an innovative slide-up construction, refurbished Bada OS v2.0 with Samsung Apps and 1.4 GHz Scorpion single-core CPU.
The phone flaunts a 4" 16 million-color super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen (480 x 800 pixels) which is scratch-resistant. The front Gorilla Glass covered 4" superAMOLED screen dominates its otherwise subtle design. The display is of WVGA resolution. The superAMOLED design looks great and adds to the phone's overall durability. Also, even though the screen is not as bright as LCD screen, it has a very good sunlight legibility. It's undoubtedly an asset of the S8600 Wave 3.
The display uses a PenTile matrix that reduces the sharpness of the display. Wave 3 uses two capacitive call keys around the Home key. When idle, they're not backlit but the single massive Home key becomes prominent because the front is minimalistic.
The gripping exterior is a security for a solid performance. But ergonomically, the polished metal surface on the downside of the phone doesn't allow a secure grip. There are aluminum wraps around the sides and its rounded edges feel great in hand and make the design almost seamless.

Multimedia features

There is standard 3.5mm audio jack, TV out, DivX/XviD/H.264/MKV video support with subtitles, AC3 audio support, stereo FM radio with RDS, FM recording in Samsung Wave 3.
The 5 MP autofocus camera with touch focus and LED flash, geo-tagging, face, smile and blink detection, 720p video recording at 30fps is located at the unprotected rear. Fortunately, the 5MP camera lens is sufficiently recessed into the body of the phone, which keeps it out of the way of scratches and fingerprints.

Pictures and Video quality

The picture and video quality of images and videos shot by the 5 MP photo shooter of Samsung Wave 3 is quite good. The camera records 720p HD video at 30 fps with insignificant shutter lag. There are no complaints about loss of color depth, trueness, or picture clarity. HD videos are also of incredible promising quality.

Internet support

One can access Internet on Samsung Wave 3 via its web kit-based Samsung Dolphin Browser with Flash Lite support. Browsing is fun and users will enjoy it.

Internal and External Memory

Sadly, both the SIM and microSD card slot are blocked by the battery on Samsung Wave 3, which needs to be out if you're going to be ejecting or inserting a card in either slot. That's something we wish Samsung had fixed. Thus, quite evidently, there's no hot swappable microSD card in the phone.
Nevertheless, it has an available built-in storage of 1GB for user files and 2GB for system storage and apps.

Applications and Gaming

As already mentioned that the Samsung Wave 3 apps and games front is its weak end. However, it is for the people to understand that the Bada app store has been building up content. Hence, along with 250K Android apps, the limited supply in Samsung’s app store apps will still be ample. Moreover, one must also give up on the prejudices and try the new fresh, efficient, and friendly apps available on the Samsung S8600 Wave 3.

Battery Backup

Samsung Wave 3 rear cover slides up to let users access the battery and memory and SIM slots. Sliding reveals the 1500 mAh battery of the phone that is rated at an enormous 8.30 hours of talk time and 480 hours of standby time.

Connectivity Offered

All the connectivity ports are at the bottom of Samsung Wave 3 and so we find the microUSB port and the 3.5-mm audio jack there. The Quad-band GSM supported device enjoys dual-band HSPA, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n connectivity, Wi-Fi Direct support, Wi-Fi tethering, Built-in GPS receiver with A-GPS support, digital compass, YouTube client, Facebook, and Twitter integration, voice recognition for both commands and dictation. There's also Samsung LBS powered by ROUTE 66 standard microUSB port and Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP.

High Tech Bicyles from AUDI

Posted by Unknown 0 komentar
Audi unveiled an extremely emotion-inspiring sports machine, the Audi e-bike Wörthersee at Wörthersee in Carinthia, Austria. The prototype cycle combines an electric drive and muscle power. Head of Design Wolfgang Egger comments: “As a high-performance e-bike for sports and trick cycling, it features the Audi core competences of design, ultra, e-tron and connect.”

The uncompromising dynamism of the bike prototype is fully visible at first sight. “When developing the Audi e-bike Wörthersee we drew on motor racing design principles for inspiration,” explains Hendrik Schaefers, one of the designers at Concept Design Studio Munich. “The e-bike appears incredibly precise, highly emotional and strictly functional. Indeed, the design effort focused on its function as a sports machine

The airy frame boasts a low center of gravity and a compact overall volume. In this way, the e- bike is superbly agile at the sporty handling limits. The lithium-ion battery is incorporated into the frame and needs 2.5 hours to freuteully charge. On long trial tours, only a few simple steps are required to remove the battery and replace it with a charged one

The frame and the swinging arm that holds the back wheel are made of carbon fiber- reinforced polymer (CFRP). The same material is used for the 26” wheels, which feature an innovative “Audi ultra blade” design with broad flat spokes for an optimized transmission of pedal power. “We were able to demonstrate with the choice of materials just how closely design goes hand in hand with expertise in ultra lightweight construction,”

Homogeneous LED light strips round out the frame and create the immediately recognizable Audi light signature. For extreme tricks and stunts the seat can be lowered to run flush with the frame itself. At the press of a button, the seat then rises up and the biker can adopt a comfortable position.

Cycling modes and countless other functions can be set using the touchscreen on-bike computer. The cyclist's smartphone hooks up by WLAN to the computer – when you start cycling, for example, the immobilizer is deactivated. Video images of the trial drive or of a trick, as recorded via the in-helmet camera, are uploaded to the Internet in real time via your smartphone.

The cyclist can choose between a total of five cycling modes – pure muscle power, the electric motor alone, or pedaling supported by the electric motor. In the “Pure” mode, the drive power is purely the product of the cyclist’s legs, while in “Pedelec” mode you are supported by the electric motor that then makes speeds of up to 80 km/h (50 mph) possible and gives you a range of 50-70 kilometers (31-44 miles).

If you select “eGrip”, the Audi e-bike Wörthersee runs solely on the electric motor and can reach a top speed of 50 km/h (31 mph). The cyclist then controls forward momentum using a gripshift and can configure the power as desired using the computer.
