Pearl Diver

Pearl Diver comes in two different versions for iPhone and iPad.

Throw on your diving helmet, and head into the depths of the sea! Dive amidst shipwrecks and sunken ruins for the valuable pearls, maybe even the elusive black pearl. But watch out for that pesky electric eel!

Ideal for middle school and upper elementary students, grades 3-8, this app addresses number and operations standards established by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), including:

=> Understand numbers, ways of representing numbers, and number systems.
=> Understand and represent commonly used fractions.
=> Understand fractions as part of unit wholes and as locations on number lines.
=> Compare and order fractions, and find their approximate locations on the number line.

* Developed by mathematics educators, researchers, and game developers at the Learning Games Lab at New Mexico State University. Games developed by the Learning Games Lab undergo a rigorous instructional design process, extensive user testing, and input from learners, teachers, and researchers. Lobster Diver - Free App of the Day

Throw on your diving helmet, and head into the depths of the sea! Dive off the coast of Maine for lobster traps - you might even snatch the elusive blue lobster. But watch out for that pesky electric eel!

* Ideal for middle school and upper elementary students, grades 3-8.

* Addresses number and operations standards established by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), including:

=> Understand numbers, ways of representing numbers, and number systems.

Oh No! Fractions

Made for iPad,eExplore and learn about fractions with a simple and intuitive interface. Compare and visualize two fractions and guess which one is greater, too.

How to explore and compare fractions:
-Simply swipe the big white label with "LESS" and "GREATER" to pick your answer.
-When you are ready, tap on "I'M SURE!".
-The app will tell you if your guess was correct or wrong.
-You can "PROVE IT!" visually with an interactive graph that shows the two fractions in simple bars divided in proper boxes. You can swipe your fingers on the boxes to find the right answer or simply tap on the bottom to reveal it.

Number Line

Number Line is an educational game app to help students learn about fractions, decimals, and percents by ordering equivalent fractions, decimals, and percents on a number line. The app features multiple levels where the player must drag circles with either a percent, decimal or fraction onto a number line in the correct sequence. A score is earned based on the time it takes to put all the circles in the correct order (faster is better), plus points for each correct placement, minus points for each error.
